 1.Editor
This application is part of TFAS transcription management package. This tool is used by the transcribers to convert audio files in to text by listening and typing them. It is capable of connecting to TFAS server and bring the audio/text files using underlying WCF technology. This tool is developed to eliminate the usage of MSWord in every transcribers desktop which causes considerable amounts in licencing them. At the same time TFAS is capable of delivering the final files in the MSWord with the use of its serverside formating utility.

The File Manager

After login to the Editor user can then download files using the FileManager button provide in the tool bar. The filemanager shows the list of files which are being processed. The details of files which are allocated, downloaded to transcriptionist‘s pool are all displayed here. This comprises the essential information about the file.
As the name denotes, the filemanager manages the files which are allocated to transcriptionists .It lists all the files allocated for the logged person. He can collect (download) or reject the file(s) as he wish. The downloaded files can be opened for processing, audio file will be opened in Express Scribe and transcript in the Editor simultaneously.
If the file is a fresh audio which is not transcribed,it will not be associated  with a transcript .Opening  such files pops up a window  listing all the work types belonging to the provider /clinic of the corresponding file ,as shown in the figure.

This from the list a worktype has to be selected. The content tags of the selected work type will be opened in the text editor.
If the file is not belong to a fresh job then, it will have a transcript connected to it, and when open button is clicked, the audio and transcript will be opened in Express scribe and editor respectively.
After processing the files can be sent (uploaded) to the server. Once uploaded, they vanish from the filemanager list.

This is the text  editor where the transcriber produces the transcript document. The contents are typed in between the tags loaded from the selected worktype. The features provided in the editor are mentioned below

The figure shows a transcript opened in editor. The tags (seen in bold green font) belong to the selected worktype. Contents are typed in between them as shown.

Users are provided to add custom headers as shown above. The Newline checkbox is provided to specify whether the contents are to be inserted on the line next to the heading in the final document.

The Bold checkbox is to specify whether the inserted heading is to be made bold in the final document.

The newly added header and contents inside it is highlighted in the figure shown below.

Users are allowed to add new words to the dictionary .He can either select a word in the editor body and click the button or type the new word in the textbox provided as shown above.
These words are reviewed by the concerned person/supervisor for approval ,and once approved it  gets loaded to the dictionary associated with the editor installed in all the systems , at the time of next login.

This is to change the default transcript name. The default name is generated by the software, which is same as that of the audio file except the extension.

This implements the so called split job functionallity. i.e
In some cases an audio file has to have multiple transcripts.Using Add Transcript utility we can do this.

While transcribing, if the transcriber thinks that the selected worktype was wrong, he can change it using this feature. Here also, as mentioned in the new file opening process, a window will be popped up, prompting the user to select the appropriate worktype, and the selected worktype will be assigned to the file, replacing the old one.

Some files which need to be reviewed and modified later are to be set in hold status so that they should not be sent accidentally.

This is to set  the status of the file after processing. The options listed is based on role of the user and his direct send percentage. There is also provision to enter any comments which are to be viewed by the person at higher levels who verifies this file .

This button becomes visible on the tool bar only if there is some note associated with the file. Upon clicking this, note will be displayed in a message box .
